My Experience...

It’s our first trip to Phuket and we were very excited. We were looking forward to spend the next 3 days 2 nights on the enchanting island of Phuket. We had previously heard about how wonderful and beautiful the island is and we were waiting eagerly to see it for ourselves. The flight onboard SilkAir was pleasant as the cabin crew were attentive and friendly. The landing was so smooth that we did not feel anything until the plane hit the runway. We were pleasantly surprised that it was a female pilot who was at the helm. We felt so honoured to be able to get the whole cabin crew as well as the female pilot and her co-pilot to take a picture with us.

The journey to our destination, Movenpick Resort and Spa Karon Beach Phuket took approximately 50mins from Phuket International Airport. When we reached the destination, we were awed by how amazing and grand the resort was.

It was a refreshing experience for the both of us as we felt so relaxed and so carefree. We tried some tasty local food around the resort and strolled along the beach to enjoy the cool sea breeze and visited the night bazaar.

On the second day, we tried out activities which the both of us had never tried before. We tried the ATVs (All terrain vehicle) and trekked across the trails. Along the way we stopped for pictures and were overwhelmed by the astonishing sight from the hilltop where the white and sandy beaches of Phuket greeted us. Subsequently we rented a motorcycle and rode to Patong beach. The journey on the motorcycle was a total different experience for me as I enjoyed the short and bumpy ride to Patong. Over at Patong beach,we sunbathed like everyone else and my companion even tried out the jetski which he rode at extreme high speed and experienced the adrenalin rush. The sunburnt we suffered at the end of the day was worthwhile as we felt the difference of the city beat compared to the relaxed environment at Phuket. The day ended with a relaxing massage and a sumptuous roast chicken feast at the roadside stall.

The last day came with mixed feelings as we felt reluctant to go back to Singapore. However the third day was also the eve of the Chinese Lunar New Year and the streets of Phuket were filled with firecrackers being ignited. We decided to relax on our last morning in Phuket at the resort swimming pool while recollecting back the beautiful memories we had at this boisterous but relaxing getaway town of Phuket.

It has been a wonderful experience to Phuket.
